Max Hoffman Motors started importing European cars to the US in 1947. By 1948 he was the first to import Volkswagen and Jaguar to the American market. One of his greatest successes was the Porsche. In 1955 Max Hoffman convinced Porsche to cut the roof off and lighten the car...the Speedster was born!
